Writing & Science Extra Credit

Need extra credit towards your writing or
science grade?  It's as easy as 1,2,3!

1)  Go online to
http://kidshealth.org/kid

2)  Pick a topic and read all about it.

3)  Explain what you have learned in a well
organized report.
Reading Extra Credit

Use page 112 in the Language Arts
Handbook to guide you as you write a book
review.  Your book review must be on a
book you finished reading this school year.
Math Extra Credit

Correct your weekly math tests.  This is
enough extra credit to raise anyone's grade.
Writing and Music Extra Credit

Visit www.nyphilkids.org and follow the
directions to make a homemade instrument.
Then write a report explaining how you built
the instrument, how to play the instrument,
and tell what family of instruments it would
belong to.  Present your report and your
instrument to the class and collect your
points!

Complete the MusiQuest challenge at
www.nyphilkids.org .  After completing all
four families of instruments, print the screen
that shows a newspaper headline that reads:

"NY Phil Proudly Welcomes
(Your Name)
As Newest Orchestra Member"

If you are unable to print the newspaper
screen, you can also print the INFO
NOTEBOOK page that states that you
completed 12 of 12 levels and turn it in for
credit.
Write your own song about an Egyptian Pharaoh of
your choice. For example, you could write about King
Khufu and his pyramid.  Unlike Steve Martin's, your
song has to be based on the information we have
actually learned about the Ancient Egyptians.
